Happy Valentine’s Day, all my Christmas loving friends! ‘Tis the season for love… If I could raise my eyebrows suggestively, I would. February is all about love, and you know what that means? Date nights! So, I have gathered a guide to help you plan the best date nights in Boerne, whether for a spouse, your steady, your child, your friends, or yourself with this Valentine guide.
Valentine Shopping Guide
Like every other man, I have totally waited until the last minute to shop for any Valentine’s gifts. So, if I am sending you a card in the mail, it’s definitely going to be late.
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have some awesome ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts in The Christmas Shoppe. Good news is, The Christmas Shoppe will begin their sale on Valentine’s gifts on Valentine’s Day. So, it pays to procrastinate.
- Valentine’s Cards: Not many stores in our area carry greeting cards, but we do! And they are way better than the ones you find at a grocery store. (We love you anyway, H-E-B.)
- Decorating essentials: It doesn’t have to be elaborate. How about a big heart to hang on your front door? Or maybe a spray of glittery hearts to add to a bouquet of flowers. Nice!
- Stuffed animals! These make the perfect little gift for anyone! Plus, there is so much variety, you are sure to find the perfect one. Even if they aren’t red or pink, just ask us, and we will tie a bow one for free.
- Sweet smelling candles are sure to add a little romance in your home. My favorite lovey-dovey scents are Macho Man, Creamy Brulee, Buck Naked, Diva Night, and Hotty Toddy.
- Hearts: anything involving hearts is sure to make mine go pitter patter. Just scatter them all over the place, like confetti. Might we suggest…
Valentine Events Guide
Starting this Friday, we have the most amazing Valentines events. Here’s what I know from my years of experience at The Christmas Shoppe.
First off: Chocolate Walk tickets are way past being sold out. However, some businesses have giveaways. So, check around. You might get lucky.
The most popular Valentine event of the year, Chocolate Walk was created by Boerne Parks & Recreation to raise money for their programs.
Chocolate Walk tips:
- Wear your walking shoes. There are a lot of shops to visit.
- Ticket holders must have both their official bag and their ticket/map of participating businesses to pick up their chocolate gifts.
- We are one of the few businesses that includes a coupon with the chocolate, and it is good through the following weekend.
- We will be serving other chocolates for people who don’t have tickets, but they are as supplies last.
- Ticket holders can vote for their favorite chocolates, and we hope we win!
- If you are on Santa’s Good List (you know who you are), you can get a coupon (like the Chocolate Walk ticket holders) just for coming in during this event.
- Ticket holders should save Handmade on Main for their last stop so they can turn in their contact information for the chance to win a gift basket.

Well, obviously you are going to treat the object of your affection to a fun day of shopping along downtown Boerne, but other than that, here are some fun ways to celebrate Love Day this weekend.
- Bake a chocolatey treat. Try one of our recipes:
Okay, we have shopping. We have baking. But wait, there’s S’more for your Valentine Guide:
- Walk or hike! The weather looks pretty nice this weekend. Try a nice walk along River Road Park or one of our other Boerne parks.
- Craft a homemade gift. There are so many ideas you can do at home, but you can, also, get the folks at Maker’s Place to help you, too.
- Let’s all go to the movies! After all, nothing says date night like watching a classic rom-com.
- Stay in for some pampering. I know Mrs. C. would love to just curl up next to Mr. C. on the couch with a favorite book, a crackling fire, some gentle music, and a cup of hot cocoa.
