There are SO many things I LOVE about Boerne! There’s is always something fun to do! Tomorrow is the Boerne Chocolate Walk  & I couldn’t be more excited to see all of your SWEET, smiling faces at The Shoppe! An officially acknowledged day in New Mexico (Roswell), Extraterrestrial Culture Day celebrates extraterrestrial cultures, and our past, present and future relationships with extraterrestrial visitors.

Plum pudding (aka Christmas pudding) is a steamed or boiled pudding usually served during the holiday season. Plum pudding is composed of nutmeg, raisins, nuts, apples, cinnamon, dates, and many other ingredients. In England, it is tradition to have every person a household simultaneously hold onto the wooden spoon together to help stir the batter. As they stir it they also have to make a wish!

The day after Valentine’s Day has been designated Singles Awareness Day.  February 15th declares to the world that there is nothing wrong with being single. However, I may now be spoken for, I have a date with a sweet lady I met at the library! 😉

“Life’s short, eat Dessert First” is a phrase that has been bandied about by a lot of people for reasons both flippant and serious.  Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day is one of the more serious, serving to increase awareness about childhood cancer.  For children for whom every day is a blessing, it only makes sense to indulge in life’s little pleasures, and Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast day brings that opportunity to everyone.

* Hoodie Hoo Day
On this winter day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant “Hoodie-Hoo”. It is a day to chase away winter blahs, and bring in spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere are sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.

Muffin Day is an opportunity for you to celebrate everything you might love about muffins with the people around you.
* Fat Thursday
While Fat Thursday is often thought of as a means of treating oneself and indulging prior to a period of abstinence during Lent, the act of eating doughnuts is also believed to bring good luck in Poland. History suggests that it’s lucky to eat doughnuts and that those who refuse these sugar-coated, doughy delights face a run of misfortune.
